Hello.

There is a major issue with moving objects on this document. When trying to move a text box or an image the mouse goes automatically to the far left or to the far right. Do you know how to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance

It sounds like a common problem Publisher users have when using multiple monitors. Four options:

  1. Go to Page Design tab > Layout group > uncheck Guides and Objects under Align To; or
  2. you can move your work to your main display/screen instead of the added/external monitor; or
  3. change your computer setup as to what is labeled as your main display...make your external display your primary dislpay, or
  4. (as per a recent user suggestion) Match the % value under Scale and Layout in Display Settings on both monitors. Example laptop was 125%, so user set external monitor to 125%.

Issue was supposed to be fixed via an Office update. Try updating Office/Publisher.

    Dear Teresa,

Good day! Thanks for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

According to your description, I have tested on my side, and I can't reproduce the same situation. To troubleshoot the situation, I would like to collect more information.

    1. Does the situation exist in a specific Publisher file or also in other Publisher files? Please create a new Publisher file to test.
    2. Please provide your Office version

For the Office version, please click File> Account, take a screenshot including Subscription Product and About Publisher.

Also, here are the suggestions that may help you. Please check if they help.

    1. Please make sure your Office version is the latest. If not, try to update Office to the latest version.
    2. Please set Publisher into Safe Mode, then test again, check if the situation happens or not.

Close Publisher, press win + R, in the Run box, type mspub /safe, and click OK

    1. Please try to Repair Office and choose Online Repair. After that, check if the situation happens or not.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator
