Search SharePoint list column with multiple selections

Hi there,

I am having trouble searching a SharePoint list for items that have a multiple choice columns that allows multiple selection. The search bar works only for those with 1 choice option selected.

The following image shows the configuration of the column.

Below you will see I have 3 items that have different colors selected.

When searching the word "Blue", the list will return the item that only has Blue selected, but not the item that has both Yellow and Blue selected.

Is there a way to adjust the search parameters to look for all values that contain the keywords the user is searching by, including those that have multiple selections?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello Lauren,

    Appreciate for sharing the detailed information and per the description, I understand your concern and we can see the same behavior at our end, the reason behind not showing values for the items with multiple values is explained in this article: Incomplete search results for choice type columns with multiple values (though this article explains about the SharePoint 2013 the search mechanism is also same with SharePoint Online).

    As a workaround, you can refer to the steps in the thread: How to search choice field values with 'Allow multiple selections'
