Visio Data Visualizer

Question

Edit: This seems to be a problem with how Visio orients the diagram. I cannot figure out why it will take data and create horizontal sometimes, and boxes other times. These two sets of data below create a 'box type' first one and the second set of data below creates a horizontal diagram. It would be helpful if someone could tell my why the data visualizer does this.

I am having an issue with the Data Visualizer. I have been successful with using it in the past and our company actually uses it. It seems to be bugged in this particular instance. When splitting off into two branches it completely separated the flow. It seems to be doing this randomly as it has worked for me almost every other time I have used it. Here is where it is not working:

Here is the diagram it is producing:

Step 11 is set to next step of 12, and 13. Step 14 is set to next step of 15 and 16. As you can see in the diagram they are not connecting properly.

Also, does anyone know a way I can always have the data set up horizontally? Here is an example I have used and it works:

As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

When you Create a Visio diagram with the wizard, Under What diagram do you want to create from data, check the template, e.g., you select Cross-Functional Flow Chart (horizontal), or Cross Functional Flow Chart (vertical)?

Meanwhile, to confirm whether this is a bug in a specific version, if you don’t mind (my humbly request please don’t mind) you may also try Data Visualizer add-in, which is available for Excel see information in this article for your reference:  Create a diagram in Excel with the Visio Data Visualizer add-in.
