how do i create a template in Excel

all i want to do is create my own temple files, it used to be Save As>file type excel template

    It's still the same. In the 'Save as Type' dropdown in the Save As dialog, you can choose between three types of templates:

    Excel Template (*.xltx) is the standard type for Excel 2007 and later.

    If your workbook contains VBA code, you should select Excel Macro-Enabled Template (*.xltm).

    The third type, Excel 97-2003 Template (*.xlt) is only for compatibility, if you have to support users who still have Excel 2003 or older.
