See if this helps: Check spelling and grammar in a different language (microsoft.com)

**Tip:**To prevent having to manually configure the proofing language with each new document in Word, switch on the option to detect the language you're writing. On the Reviewtab, go to Language. Choose Language > Set Proofing Language, and then select Detect language automatically.

    Hi Martin525,

I'm Adie, and I'm happy to help you today.

You may try changing your keyboard input language to English US by pressing the Windows key + SPACE or ALT + Shift. Then see if your default proofing language in Word has also changed to English US.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Adie

If your regional language settings in Windows is for Polish, that may override your Word setting. Also, if your keyboard is set to Polish, that may override.

Charles's reply is correct. I know from experience that the default language in Word/Office may be overridden by the Windows system display language. If you can change the display language in your Windows installation, that is usually the quickest fix.

As always, keep in mind that the new language default will apply to future documents that you create. Existing documents must be modified one by one.

Thanks a lot for all replies.

It's maybe a keyboard or system language, both are set to PL. But why they put this option if it dos not work.

Autodetect doesn't work to. It always is PL.

It is ridiculous because in chrome, in gmail, also in EDGE, I even think about it. Works perfectly.

But in office , word and OneNote, it always is PL.
