RemoteApp redirect protocols locally

Hi,

We have been making use of RemoteApp built into 2016s Remote Desktop Services deployment during the COVID pandemic.
This has allowed remote users to get the latest builds of our SAP application without the need for complex remote updates/installs.

We do have some occasional issues however, whereby emailing from the application causes it to crash, which we believe to be related to it trying to load the remote instance of Outlook.

Is there a way in 2016 or later, we can set redirection of some protocols and file browsing etc. to point to the local machine rather than the remote machine?
We would like links to open the local browser, email to open the local Outlook, and for file open dialogues to browse the local file system.
Citrix I believe has some capability around this baked in, but RDS does not seem to.
I have seen soe third party applications may be available to aid in this, but I'd love a first party integrated solution from MS.

Perhaps it's something that might become available in Server 2022?

Many thanks
James
