Onenote using pen as pointer grayed out

I am trying to use the pen as pointer feature again however it seems to be grayed out. As you can see in the photo below I have added it to the quick access bar but no matter what I do it never lets me actually click on it.

I am using the regular version of OneNote. Not the scaled-down windows 10 version.

Just a heads up. I have tried restarting the computer, restarting the app, uninstalling/reinstalling the app, updating it, as well as tried it on another device. It does not seem to work anymore. Such a shame as I started to use it towards the end of last school year a lot in my classroom.

    Hi Syokoyama

Sorry you had to experience that, I would advise you do the following steps below

1: Roll back your version of Microsoft Office.

This link will explain how to do that: How to Roll Back Microsoft Office to a Previous Version. https://support.microsoft.com/topic/2bd5c457-a917-d57e-35a1-f709e3dda841

    2: Disable Automatic Handwriting Recognition

In OneNote, go to Options, Advanced, Pen, and uncheck "Enable automatic handwriting recognition". Restart OneNote

    I hope this helps ;)

    Best Regards,

    Anna
