Date error code 44910 or 44932

Hi I am adding dates to my excel and when I paste the date like 12/12/2022, an error code like 44910 comes up or 44932. It's never the same error code. I have set the cells as a 'date' in the settings at the top but the error only goes away when I add a space before the date so " 12/12/2022" for example. But I can't apply conditionnal formatting to these cell dates when there is a space before the date. I don't know how to fix this :(

    Hi Hello.48!

Please open a new workbook and then try to insert the date and let see if the issue is the same.

Can you share a screenshot for clarification?

However, also try to update the Excel.

    Kind Regards, Shakiru

    It does, take a look:

A date in Excel is a number, so there is nothing wrong in general if you format a cell as text.

If you paste 12/12/2022 (which is a text!!!) into a cell, Excel uses the region settings of your PC to convert the text into a date (a number!!!), writes the number into the cell and usually formats the cell as date. Please try that in a new file.

If it doesn't work in a new file, follow this steps:

    Close Excel
Press and hold the CTRL key
    Open Excel
Wait for a message to appear and ask for "Safe Mode"
    Release the CTRL key
    Click Yes
    After Excel opens
    Make a new file
    Test the behavior

    What happens?

    Andreas.

    Hi Hello.48!

Thank you for writing to the Microsoft Answer Community Forum. I am Shakiru, an independent advisor and a user like you, and I am glad to be helping you out today.

The error code displayed seems as if the date format is changed.

    I suggest you try these:

    1. Highlight the cells containing the date> right-click the cells> select the format cells> Click on the date under the category, and select the date format in the option, you would see as the changes occur right on the display bar.
    2. Increase the Width of the cells.
    3. Type the date rather than pasting it

    Kind Regards, Shakiru
