Comments do not show while using Next Changes

When reviewing a document I am able to see all changes by using the "Next" button in the tracking ribbon. This lets me review each one. But, any comments on the document are skipped over during this process. Because of this, I am missing a lot of edits.

For example, while using the next button I would see:

-edit 1 (stops here)

-comment (skips this and goes to edit 2)

-edit 2 (stops here)

So I completely miss the edit request made in a comment. Is there a way to get these to show up while using the Next change button?

As far as I know, comments are never included when you use the commands to move between tracked changes in Word.

To get a combined view of all changes, including comments, you can try the Reviewing pane / Revisions pane. Click Reviewing Pane in the Tracking group on the Review tab.

    Dear J.J._T,

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

According to your description, when reviewing a document, you can see changes by using the Next button, but any comments on the document are skipped.

May I know if you use the Next button as shown below to review changes in the document? ****

(if we misunderstood, feel free to correct us)

If our understanding of the Next button is consistent with yours, we can reproduce the same situation when we use the Next button to review changes, it skips comments on the document.

As far as we know, we're afraid there is no build-in feature in Word can change this behavior. We do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

On one hand, we understand it would be ideal if we can show comments when we use the Next button to view changes in a document, thank you for bringing thing to our attention. Microsoft continuously aim to improve the features of Office Product. We recommend you send feedback within Word via Help tab>Feedback, or File>Feedback. This is the way to let the developers know your requirements and comments and help improve the product.

On the other hand, we will keep this thread open. Welcome community members who have similar experience to share insights and suggestions here.

We appreciate your patience and understanding!

Hope you are keeping safe and well.

    Sincerely,

    Tina | Microsoft Community Moderator
