Hi,

I have a problem with excel and I have no idea what the problem is about. once I did an update on the file, it will show that the database could not be found. Just wondering why and finally I have found the behavior only applied when I downloaded the file and did save as to make a copy. Does anyone know how to deal with this?

What kind of things that I've already did

  • Online repair Microsoft Office Program
  • File system check (sfc /scannow)
  • The office is up to date
  • create a new empty file and do a simulation

Please help and this is the office version

    Dear Safik AlMunawar,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you

We understand that you continue to receive error messages and that you have tried a number of ways to fix this.

I would like to first ask you to try the following two suggestions to help us further narrow down the situation:

    1. Opening Office apps in safe mode to check whether there is an add-in or extension that may be causing a problem on startup.
    2. Performing a clean boot in Windows determine whether a background program is interfering with your Office application.

If you still experience this situation, please inform us of the following information:

    • Does this error message also appear in the web version of Excel?
    • Whether your colleagues have also encountered this phenomenon?

Thank you for taking the time to work with us to fix this.

    Sincerely,

    Tin | Microsoft Community Moderator

    https://fileinfo.com/extension/sdf

I am afraid you may need connect to sql server compact rather than load the .sdf file directly。

    Hi Peiyezhu,

Do we need to install the SQL server compact only? or we need to do something with it?
