Linking Sharepoint Excel File to automatically fill/update local excel file

As the title says, I am trying to link an excel file that is hosted on sharepoint to automatically be pulled into a local/desktop excel file in order to create a dashboard that automatically updates from the sharepoint hosted excel file. I played around with the idea of using a button or something of that matter.

Thank you

Stuart

    Dear Sbellmore,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Based on the description, you want to link SharePoint Excel file to automatically fil/update local Excel file. To understand your requirement correctly, could you please provide a simple flow chart of the requirement.

SharePoint Online Library store files and can be open using Excel application and sync two ways in real time. We can also use OneDrive sync client to sync local copy and online copy.

For more information, you can refer to this article Sync SharePoint files and folders (microsoft.com).

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation. Stay safe and healthy always.

    Sincerely,

Share point excel file or list (can be either) -> load data into excel file for dashboard -> create macro'd automatic dashboard or dashboard that is updated automatically by new data. This dashboard excel file is something I want people to be able to open and see the dashboard automatically populated with the information from the sharepoint file.

    Dear Sbellmore,

    Thank you for posting back.

Currently the out of the box we can use is OneDrive sync client to update the file. I am not sure if this is possible via Power Automate, I would suggest you to please post a thread Microsoft Power Automate Community - Power Platform Community.

Your kind understanding is highly appreciated.
