There is a form that was critical to our business processes that is now unavailable since the original owner has since left the company. Is there a means by which we can recover this form?

Hi Olivia Maurice,

Thank you for the reply.

To transfer a form, you need to be the global administrator of the organization and have a valid Forms license.

You can check admin role permissions in Microsoft 365 Admin center: you can go to Roles and select the admin role, and select assigned admins to see which users are assigned.

About the URL, you can check this official article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-forms/admin-information

Best regards,

Jazlyn

Thanks for the quick response - how do I identify an administrator and how do they know the specialized URL?

    Hi Olivia Maurice,

First, my pleasure to assist you.

As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

According to this Microsoft article recover deleted form, we can only recover deleted Microsoft Form.

Regarding to your scenario, when an employee leaves the organization, the form created by hm/her will delete once the account is deactivated.

Since, you mentioned, "There is a form that was critical to our business processes" To transfer ownership of a form, administrators can access the user’s portal via a specialized URL. After that you can move any forms to your own or another group’s portal via the existing Move feature. To learn more about this, see transfer ownership of a form.

I appreciate your understanding and stay safe!!

    Best regards

    Waqas Muhammad
