Excel Automatically Changes Graph Solid Fill to Automatic

When I create a graph, I set colors to my graph and usually select solid fill. Over time, excel will change it to automatic. Now, it doesn't actually change the color of the graph, but if I ever want to edit, it selects its own color instead of the one I chose when I created it.

When I created this table, I selected a pink color for the area series. It now has blue as automatic, so if I wanted to copy this pink color, it's gone forever.

    Dear Jacob,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft community.

We go through your description and test on our side. We could not repro this behavior in our Excel files, so may I confirm the information below to help us narrow down this behavior:

1.If a new chart have the same behavior in the original file.

2.If this behavior remains in a new Excel file?

3.What is your Office version, you could check it through File>Account.

Meanwhile, if this behavior remains in every Excel files, you could try the steps below and see if they could help:

1.Update your Excel if there is any new version.

    2.Repair an Office application (microsoft.com)

3.Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC (microsoft.com)

Thanks for your cooperation, look forward to your reply.

    Have a good day.

    Sincerely,

Sean Cai | Microsoft Community Moderator
