Try: Make Y Axis Start at 0 in Charts in Excel - TeachExcel.com
Make graph axis start at 0
Hello,
I have a line graph, and somehow the x axis doesn't start at 0, it starts at 1. I would like it to start at 0, just like the y axis. I have tried to fix it under "format axis" -> "axis options" (after right-clicking the x axis scale), but I can't find the correct setting to change. I am on a Windows 11 laptop, using the Excel app. Here is the link to my graph. Please let me know how to fix this problem, or just change it directly in the linked spreadsheet.
Thank you very much,
Alexandra

2022-05-23T05:52:58+00:00 Hello,
Thank you for the quick reply!
Unfortunately, I don't have the "layout" tab (that the website mentions) when I click on the graph - I only have the "chart design" tab, as shown in my screenshot. There's also the "format" tab, but that doesn't have the option to select "more horizontal axis options", which is the wording I am looking for. What else can I try to get the horizontal axis to start at 0?
Thank you!
Alexandra

I suggest to add time column to show the real hours:
A3: =A2+TIME(6,0,0)
drag down and format column A as:
If you want to have the Interval:
A3: =A2+1
drag down and format column A as:

2022-05-23T18:54:14+00:00 Hello,
Thank you for your help.
That did not solve my problem (because I couldn't get that column of data to integrate with the rest of my chart), but I created a new graph including the "interval" category and my other category of data. In my new graph, the x axis had reset itself to start at 0.
The original problem was probably that I accidentally changed that setting for my first graph.
Thank you again,
Alexandra
