Dear J. Hipp,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

Select the data series>On the Chart Design tab of the Ribbon click the Add Chart Element Button>under Choose Error Bars >click More Error Bars Options>under Format Error Bars pane, click Custom, and then click Specify Value and type custom value in a Positive/ Negative Error **** Value boxes.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

Sincerely,

Waqas Muhammad

Hi

Here's more information about Standard Deviation and Error Bars:

https://support.office.com/en-us/f1/topic/e6d12c87-8533-4cd6-a3f5-864049a145f0?showContactUsNav=False&ns=MACEXCEL&version=90&ThemeId=0&IsSasFeedbackEnabled=True

Please pay special attention to which kinds of charts can have error bars with standard deviation.
