Hi George,

I went to Deleted groups under Teams & groups in the admin center and could not find the related site. Seems the deleted ones are retained for 30 days .

What's the best way move or copy the current data to the new site . They got different document libraries and site assets .

Thanks for your support

Mohd

    Hi George,

Correct , i am unable to see the group under Microsoft 365 admin center> Teams & groups> Active teams & group. However, was able to locate the site under admin.sharepoint.com.

I checked the access of the user who is trying to amend the privacy settings and they are an owner. They are able to do this change on a different site they own but not the above mentioned one

    Thanks much

    Mohd

    Dear MohdMAhd1985,

    Thanks for posting back.

According to your screenshot, I assume the site is a team site. Normally, the team site is associated with a Microsoft 365 group (same name as site name). When you edit the privacy setting of the associated Microsoft 365 group, the privacy setting of the team site will be also edited. In my first reply, I suggested you edit the privacy setting of the group via Microsoft 365 admin center> Teams & groups> Active teams & group, not the site. May I reconfirm you can't find the group in Microsoft 365 admin center?

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Dear MohdMAhd1985,

Good day! Thanks for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

According to your description, when you change the privacy settings from private to public , the error message pops on. If so, please try to contact your admin/IT  department, and let them change the group privacy setting in Microsoft 365 admin center directly. Check if the situation still happens or not.

Note: after changing the setting, You need to wait a while for it to take effect.

If the situation still happens after changin the setting in Microsoft 365 admin center, I would like to know if the situation happens on a specific site or also on other sites.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator
