opening with arial unicode MS

A word document that I created in 2013 with the "calibri" font is in my private folder. I clicked on it to open today. It was opened with "arial unicode MS" font and there are many glitches in the layout of my document. Why does it open with a font that I've never used? How can I prevent this? I want it to open as I left it in the original (calibri).

    Dear Prof,

    Welcome to the forum here.

May I know whether the file is in a old format such as .doc? Do you share the file with other users? If you save the file in the private folder in your OneDrive for Business site, please check whether the folder is shared and whether the file is modified or not. You can check Modified and Modified By in your environment.

How do you open the file, by opening it in Word for the web or in the Word application? If you open it in the Word application, I'd like you to check whether the issue happens when you open the file in Word for the web.

May i know whether the issue only happens in the specific file?

If it is convenient, could you upload a full screenshot of the Account page in the Word application you are using for our reference. You can access the page via clicking on File>Account.

Note: remove any private information before uploading the screenshots.

If you download the file and can let other users open it, what's the result?

Thanks for your effort and time!

    Sincerely,

    Cliff | Microsoft Community Moderator
