Content Control properties

I added a plain text content control to a fillable form. When I go to properties for that content control and add a title why does that title show up in the start/end tags or brackets instead of between them where it says "click or tap here to enter text?

Also, in properties I made sure the "allow carriage returns" option is NOT checked yet it still allows it.

A title is not prompt text. They're different objects with different purposes. To edit the prompt text, select the content control, then choose the Developer tab and select Design Mode. Then edit the text to the prompt that you prefer.

If you have set the option to allow carriage returns, Word will change those to soft returns instead. In this screen shot, the first line ends with a soft return, the last line with a carriage (hard) return:

If the option Allow carriage returns (multiple paragraphs) is unchecked, I am not able to duplicate your results. You might try running an Office repair to make Word behave normally.

I've moved your question to the iOS section, as in your last post you mentioned that the problem only occurs on that platform.

Many Content Controls do no work in iOS as they do in Word for Windows or Mac. You can't insert a picture in a Picture CC, the Date Picker CC does nothing, the Building Block CC is also non-functional.

To raise this issue with Microsoft, please click on the left-pointing arrowhead in the upper left corner of the iPad screen to get to the Backstage view. Click on the Help button (question mark inside a circle), then choose Tell Us What Can Be Better. Describe the problem and how to reproduce it. Send it, it will go to the iOS programming team. They are unlikely to reply.

Thank you. The only CC I am using is plain text. I did not use any the the ones mentioned above. I will definitely see if Microsoft can help.

    Thank you for the help.

As for the carriage return. I have no issues with this on my computer. When I open the form to type an estimate, I can put in the name and hit tab and it goes to the next field to enter the date, tab to the next field enter the address, and so on. I downloaded MS O 365 to the ipad. Opened the form and when I enter the name and hit tab to go to the next field it carriages down. It shouldn't as it is a fillable form that has restrictions set.
