Install Date Time Picker for Excel VBA not working

Hi,

I attempted to use the date time picker control in an Excel form and I could not locate it.

I understood that this control would be available via mscomct2.ocx. So I downloaded this

control in once instance from micrsoft and registered it successfully using regsvr32 mscomct2.ocx

inside the syswow64 folder. The registration was successful. Then I went to my vba editor,

chose tools/reference and added via Browse the respective ocx to my collection of references.

Above image shows you the two entries added.

My next step was going into my form and right clicked my tool box

and chose Additional controls.

Here I expected to find the Date time

picker control, but I did not.

What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Michael,

Thank you for posting your query. My name is Clarence, I'll be more than happy to assist you with your concern.

To resolve your query kindly do the steps below.

This object library does not work in the 64 bit version of Office and is no longer included with Office. It would make more sense to abandon it and use a VBA date picker. Personally I rather like Trevor Eyre's version - https://trevoreyre.com/portfolio/excel-datepicker - which can be modified to work in Word also with little effort.

    Hi Clarence,

I certainly was dismayed that MS just dismisses "my" control.

What I do need is another control.

Do you know where to find a picker control for dates and time?

    Have a good day,

    Michael

picker control for dates and time?

No picker date and time available for vba as far as i know.

Using input tag with datetime html5 in .hta may helpful for input.

Re: install date picker on a user form

Not much chance unless you build it yourself.

(not recommended - it was a long slog for me - a long time ago)
This is an Excel add-in created on a user form.

Can be left up on the screen while you do other work.

Can append dates to existing data.

    Handles dates prior to 1900.

    Has undo (last 20 entries).
    Optional calendar insert.

    Download from OneDrive...
