    Dear Debra,

Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, you can't copy the link for files in the SharePoint Document library. I tested it on my side, however, there was no problem.

From the error message, it seems it's an issue from the server end. To narrow down the scope of the issue, could you please provide more information for me?

    1. Does the problem happen on all the files?
    2. Do your colleagues have the same problem?
    3. Does the problem happen in all the document libraries in your tenant?

    Appreciate your cooperation in advance.

    Sincerely,

    Hi Jazlyn

Thank you for your response. Yes, this is currently a global problem on this SharePoint library for all users for all files. The error message is new this week though. For the last couple of weeks, when we click the copy link button, all that was happening was an endless scrolling circle that never provided a link.

    Best Regards

    Debra

    Dear Debra,

Thank you for the detailed reply.

You mentioned "this is currently a global problem on this SharePoint library for all users for all files", the problem may be related to the SharePoint backend for your company.

Given this situation, more resources need to be involved in the issue in your environment. I suggest you contact the administrator in your company if you aren’t the administrator and follow the steps in the article to open a ticket, this is the most efficient way to fix the issue in your environment. Because the support team there will have specific diagnostic tools that can help troubleshoot this issue further, their support will continue to investigate this issue and provide suggestions for you.

    Appreciate your understanding.

    Sincerely,
