Pagination problems in document with different odd/even headers and different first page

I have formatted a document for a print book. The main part (after the front matter and TOC) has different odd/even and different first page headers. When I try to paginate, either in headers or footers, it only puts number 1 on the correct first page, but no subsequent page numbers appear. (And no number should appear on the first page of each section, since I checked that box in the page number formatting.) At one point, it paginated ALL the first pages of each section and no other, but then I unlinked all the headers and footers. What I want is for the numbering to start on the Introduction page (but not show, since it's the first page of a section) and continue through the Acknowledgments page (but not show the page number on the first page of each chapter/section.) Help??

You will need to put the page numering field(s) in both the Odd and Even page headers in the Sections where you want it to appear.

If you cannot sort it out, send me a copy of the document, referencing this thread in the covering email message, and I will investigate the issue.
