Transition setting keeps changing on save

Hello,

I have 'on mouse click' setting checked, to progress to the next slide. This is all fine and works, until ... I save the file and reopen the file to find that the 'on mouse click' setting has unchecked itself?

I am on a Mac and am running the latest version of Powerpoint, I have rebooted etc. with no luck.

Is anyone else suffering the same?

Thanks

D

Hi

Thank you for posting the thread on our forum.

Based on your description, it seems that the on mouse click' setting in Transition in PowerPoint always change to uncheck itself when you reopen the presentation. ( If there have any misunderstanding, please feel free to post back.)

  1. Please try the following steps to troubleshoot the possible causes of the problem:
  1. Use safe mode to check if other start ups caused this problem. For your reference: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

***Disclaimer:***Microsoft provides no assurances and/or warranties, implied or otherwise, and is not responsible for the information you receive from the third-party linked sites or any support related to technology.)

  1. Remove PowerPoint Preferences then to check the result:
  • Quit all applications and close all windows
  • On the Go menu, click Home>Open Library>Open the Preferences folder.
  • Look for a file that is named com.microsoft.powerpoint.plist. If you locate the file, move it to the desktop. Start PowerPoint, and check whether the problem still occurs.
  1. Try to create a new presentation to check if the 'on mouse click' setting will uncheckitse lf.
  1. We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial suggestions may not resolve the problem very soon. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. So, Please kindly provide more information below to let us work further.
  • May I know if all files have this problem or just a specific file have this problem?
  • May I know your Mac version? Click Apple icon>About the Mac then give us a screenshot
  • Can you tell us your PowerPoint product information? Click PowerPoint >About the PowerPoint then give us ascreenshot.

Hope the suggestion can help you. And if there have any unclear or misunderstanding, please feel free to post back and we’ll continue to help you all the time!

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated! Hope you have a good day and keep safe!

Best regards,

Stacey
