Bulleted check boxes

How do I get rid of bulleted check boxes when copy/pasting from internet into a word document. For example, online recipes often have check boxes before the list of ingredients. When copy/pasting onto a Word document, highlighting and selecting NONE in the bullets does not remove them. Copying/pasting onto Notepad does nothing either. Any suggestions?

The bullet symbol may be pasted as a text character, in which case Juliet Erum's suggestion would work, assuming that you choose to paste with the Keep Text Only option (= unformatted text).
