    Missing Data “Error! No Document variable supplied” will appear in the documents that are produced if there are:

    1. field names having a space before them;
    2. field names containing non alpha-numeric characters (@,#,$,%,&,(,), etc)
    3. field names starting with a numeral.
    4. field names in the data source that contain more than 40 characters (including spaces) as Word will truncate the field name to 40 characters.
    5. An empty column in the data source before the column containing the data that results in “Error! No Document variable supplied” appearing.
    6. Some form of discrepancy between the field names in the data source and the field names in the mail merge main document that can occur as a result of changes that Word makes when inserting the merge fields.

    If you cannot sort it out, send me a copy of the mail merge main document and the data source and I will investigate the issue.
