Discrete Mathematics Symbols in EXCEL

Using MS Word, I had difficulty getting access to symbols used in Discrete Mathematics such at that used for OR, AND, Exclusive OR, among others. I then learned that, using MS Word, I could enter their Unicode codes and then, selecting the entire code, using ALT-X. Worked great. In particular, the code for AND (an upsidedown V like symbol) is 22C0, or OR (a V like symbol) is 22C1, and Exclusive OR (an O with a + sign within) is 2295. I need those same symbols within MS EXCEL. The same graphical interface found in Word is available in EXCEL, but those symbols are not available there. But, unfortunately, the ALT-X capability available in Word seems to be unavailable in EXCEL. Do you have any advice?

Thanks.

    Hi Mark F!

Thank you for writing to the Microsoft Answer Community Forum, I am Shakiru, an independent advisor and a user like you, and I am glad to be helping you out today.

I'm sorry, Excel do you have the capability features for Alt + X to change the symbol for code like Microsoft Word.

However, you can suggest the Microsoft developer via the feedback portal here: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/

You can also click on Help in the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet> Select Feedback > Select I like something and enter the information you would like to suggest. Thank you for this.

    Kind Regards, Shakiru

I have just copied the symbol from Word and pasted it into Excel. However, you may wish to explore Math AutoCorrect over in Word. Math AutoCorrect outside of math regions is off by default in Word, select it in Options as shown below. This then enables you to enter many math symbols in a LaTeX-type method.

To get ⊕ you type \oplus then hit the spacebar. Copy the symbol in Word and paste it into Excel.

    ⋁ is \bigv

    ⋀ is \bigwedge

There are over 500 math symbols already in Word and you can create your own.

Math AutoCorrect is in the Options in Excel but I've never been successful in getting it to work - thus the Word to Excel method.
