ActiveX Text Box Does Not Visually Update While Editing Contents On Second Monitor (Resolution Scaling)

Hello, I believe this problem is somehow related to Windows Resolution Scaling. I have a workbook with an ActiveX Text Box that functions normally on my main display (3840x2160 150% scaling). However, when viewing on a different monitor (1920x1080 100% scaling), the Text Box does not visually update in any way while editing contents. The contents are only visually updated after exiting the Text Box, so it is impossible to see what you are typing/editing.

I suspect this is a problem related to resolution scaling, and will perform some tests to confirm.

Yes, the problem is the same in a brand new blank Excel document.

By changing display and scaling settings, I can more specifically describe the problem as:

    • When using an ActiveX Text Box embedded in an Excel worksheet on a monitor that is set to a different DPI than the main display was set to at Windows start, the Text Box will not visually update while contents are being edited.

    Here is my Excel version:

    Hi kftnyc,

First, my pleasure to assist you.

As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

May I know does issue happened do specific Excel document file? To check if this issue related with resolution scaling different monitor, if possible, could you please create a new Excel file and check if there is any difference.

Also, may I know if you try to set same resolution scaling in a second monitor as well does it work?

In the meantime, please provide us the version information. To check version: Open Excel>File>Account>Product Information and capture a full screenshot and share here (Please mask your private message for protecting your private message) and we will be tested on that version and verify the result with you.

I appreciate your understanding and stay safe!!

    Best regards
