Note that multifactor authentication includes Mobile authentication, Alternate e-mail address, or Phone number. To receive a security code instead of 2FA, you might need to change or Add a phone number to your Microsoft account. But the first priority will be given to Mobile authentication. That is you have to Acknowledge the input received on the Mobile device.
You can add either an e-mail address as Security info or a Phone number.
- Follow the steps below to change/add the security info on the Microsoft account.

-Scroll down and select "manage your security info". -Sign in with your Microsoft account. -Select Show more verification methods. -Select I don't have any of these.
- Select, Since you don't have access to your current security info, and follow the steps to complete the process.
Your new security info will be changed.
