Authentication on sharePoint lists

We are having issues with new authentication required by Microsoft. We have a main company tenant which is all fine. We also have a second tenant which is purely used to hold temporary data in SharePoint lists. These lists are accessed by users on the road where the data is drawn down into PowerApps and here we authenticate through a verification text code to the phone. That works well and offers good protection.

However we have a number of Access database systems in the office where users are logged into the main company tenant but the systems link to the sharePoint lists in the second tenant and now every time a user in the office opens a database they are being asked to log in and pick up a verification code to access this data.

All the Access systems currently use a log in to access the sharePoint data which has admin and global rights and I really need to set this as a trusted account or somehow drop authentication to access the sharePoint lists. Is this possible or can I set some VBA code in the access database when it opens to confirm the account rather than prompt users for a log in.

Thanks

    Dear judith MP,

Good day! Thanks for querying in this forum. We’re happy to help you.

From your description, it seems that you want to skip the authentication prompt when user try to access the inserted link to a SharePoint list in the second tenant in Access database.

Based on the word you mentioned" pick up a verification code to access this data", may I know if you have set MFA on the second tenant? If so, we'd recommend you share second tenant B's list with tenant A user account, configure cross-tenant access settings to trust MFA, and/ or create a Conditional Access policy to control the sign in frequency or exclude trusted accounts as a workaround.

    Hope above information can help!
