Excel OLE/Pluin Issue ONLY when Remote

Hi,

I work at a company that utilizes Sage (an accounting software). Part of the software is an application that uses OLE and excel. This works completely fine for all local/in office users. But, when users remote into the same computer it works on locally and run the issue, we receive an OLE error I believe due to something happening with the add in (Report Designer).

I have made sure it is enabled. Enabled and then disabled. Most time a fresh repair of office and reinstall of the program will temporarily fix the issue, but usually after a day or so the issue comes back.

Has anyone ever experienced anything similar? Trying to get to the bottom of it.

Thanks!

    Dear Taylor,

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

According to description, we understand the situation is that you get on OLE error when you remotely work on computer which has Excel and Report Designer add in. It seems like the error only appears when remotely use the computer because it works fine for local users.

Per our search, the Report Designer add-in is associated with Sage software. Considering Sage is a third-party software, we're afraid we have limited resource to do investigation for it. We do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

On one hand, we sincerely recommend you send feedback for this behavior within Excel by clicking File>Feedback, or Help menu>Feedback. This is the best way to let developers know your requirements and help improve the product. At the same time, we also recommend you try to contact Sage Support and let the engineers help do investigation together because they have more resource for Report Designer add-in.

On the other hand, we will keep this thread open to let community members share suggestions.

Welcome community members who have similar experience to share insights and suggestions here.

    Appreciate your cooperation and understanding!

Hope you keep safe and healthy always.

    Sincerely,
