Font dropdown (preview) for Chinese fonts in Word for Mac

On my older Word for Mac, whenever I selected the font dropdown list, I could see Chinese fonts in Chinese with the actual font style previewed. But after upgrading my Word for Mac, the dropdown only shows the English name of the Chinese font.

I have East Asian Languages already turned on.

For example:

The font dropdown shows "Heiti TC" as the font name instead of "黑體"

This is after upgrading to the latest version of Word for Mac.

I have ALREADY downloaded the fonts.

The fonts are not properly displayed in the CORRECT language in Word when selecting the font dropdown list.

The fonts are displayed in ENGLISH, rather than in CHINESE.

This change only happened after upgrading to the latest version of Word.

    Hello

I advise you to take the following action to resolve this issue

First, kindly download the license repair tool by going to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=849815 .

Now, open the ".pkg" file, then select Continue and follow the prompts in the setup wizard.

After that, the tool successfully removes licenses, now select Close.

Finally, open any Office app and sign in to activate with the email account associated with your Office for Mac license

I hope it will fix your issue.

    Regards

    Md Abdal

    Hello,

I am Md Abdal and I would be glad to help you with your question.

You will have to download the desired fonts on the device you are using.

    Try this step:-

    Close all Microsoft Office applications

Then Go to Preferences of Mac OS

Once you are there then Open Language & Region

Now, in Preferred Languages, add both Chinese Traditional and Chinese Simplified to the list
