Hello Jose,

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Office Community and thanks for providing us an opportunity to assist you.

According to description you want to open shared Excel file with your desktop application.

May I know how was the file shared with you?

If the file was shared from the other users’ OneDrive or SharePoint site, you may follow these steps:

Sign in to www.office.com with account the file was shared with and select OneDrive in App Manager on the top left corner.

Open Excel file in Excel for the Web and click on Editing > Open in Desktop App

If you open the file once with Excel desktop version, you will be able to find this file in Shared with me and Recent files in Open tab in Excel.

If my understanding doesn’t match your scenario, please post back to us and point that.
