How can I use conditional formatting to generate a phrase in a cell, based on the number range output in another cell?

I am looking to get text to populate in the cell I highlighted yellow, based on the total that comes out in cell C6. For example, If the total in cell C6 falls in the number range between 6-9, I want it to say in the highlighted cell "Satisfactory". I have 3 different number ranges that need different text outputs. Is this possible to do using Conditional formatting? Any help would be great. Thanks!

    Hi

I'm Anna and I'd be happy to help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

You can do this using an IF Function to make logical comparisons between the two numbers and then return a result if true

    =IF(AND($C6>5,$C6<10),"Satisfactory","")

Also, you can use this formula in a conditional formatting rule. Please see how to create a conditional formatting rule based on a formula

    Hi Anna,

Thank you for your response. I was able to implement a formula into conditional formatting that works, but I cannot get it to populate the phrase I want after going to format>number>custom and typing in satisfactory. Have tried with and without "" around it. Any ideas?

Please check the link below for Adding Text With a Custom Format

Other ways, i could think of is to do a conditional formation to change the background color depending on if the number falls within the range you want
