Dear MartinExperian,
Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.
I carefully went through your question, and it seems you want to share a list in a specific view to users in your organization. Please let us work together!
I did couple of tests from my environment, created new column views, and created views from existing.
If you want your users to access a list in a particular view, set that view as default and then send the link to users:
Users will receive a list in that default view, but they can be able to view all items in a list if they change the view! So if your intention is to restrict users from accessing items in a different view, this may not help!
I am afraid to tell you that as of now, lists/document libraries views do not provide the ability to set specific permissions. Permissions are only limited to Lists and Libraries but not views!
You mentioned that found a way to link to a view but it prompts you to provide permission. May I know how you did that? I suspect the permission asked is for a list level not for a particular view!
During my research, I found a thread where a user mentioned that you can copy items to another public list with Power automate, in this thread: Sharing a list item with a specific view - Microsoft Tech Community. However, there is another support channel that specializes in Power automate, that I would suggest you post a new thread so that Engineers from that side can give their ideas about this scenario to see if they can achieve our requirement. You can go to Power Automate Community via: Microsoft Power Automate Community.
Besides, I noticed that other community members have already raised their feedback about the same issue. You can vote and also encourage your team members to vote for this feature functionality. It would be ideal if there was a way to share a specific view to users! I have already added my vote via this link: SharePoint Feedback Portal. Microsoft values its customer feedback and a lot of features have been developed and suggested by customers via feedback. Your feedback is also very important. I am sure SharePoint List developers are working on this. Our Product Team is in-charge of the site and they are constantly checking the comments and feedback from our customers.
If the above is inconsistent with what you want, please feel free to post back and correct me.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! Good luck and stay safe!
Sincerely,
Edwine | Microsoft Community Moderator
