Problem with adding to imported excel table in Sharepoint

Hi

I have an imported excel table in Sharepoint which is linked to a powerapp. I have added to my sharepoint list which adds the items at the bottom with a mark next to the item name. It doesn't add in alphabetical order, and I want it to be alphabetical in order. However when I sort it alphabetically using the A to Z it doesn't stay that way on refresh or when I go to the powerapp.

I have tried create a view as per this question post (which I am unable to reply to due to it being closed) https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/list-in-sharepoint-how-to-keep-alphabetical/c9d093e4-7c72-4006-93f1-b27dd36eed87 This has not worked, I am still getting the same issue even using the new view

Any help appreciated

    Hello,

We appreciate you spent time doing test and sharing these detailed information with us.

It seems like now you can make list items show as alphabetical in SharePoint list, however, when you go to the connected PowerApps app, it doesn't show as alphabetical. You want to show the list as alphabetical in PowerApps as well.

May I know if my understanding is right?

Considering the issue seems only appears when you check the list in PowerApps, it may need to check the detailed settings in PowerApps for further investigation.

We searched a lot and found a similar thread:

    @Tina

I was able to using your suggestion make the list alphabetical without changing.

It is a list I use for data connection to a powerapp app. When I refresh the list in powerapps, nothing changes, ie it doesn't show as alphabetical, just the added items at the bottom of a dropdown list (which is not ideal)

So it is partially working. My browser is firefox

    Hello,

Good day to you. Thanks for posting in this forum.

According to your description, when you sort a SharePoint list items using the A to Z, it doesn't stay the sort on refresh or when you go to the PowerApp. It looks like you have tried to create a new view to show column items in ascending order, however, same issue happens after you refresh page or go to the PowerApp.

May I know if my understanding of the issue is right?

If yes, we did a test from our side. We created a SharePoint list by importing an Excel table, in the default All items view, we sort the Name column to A to Z, and sometimes we can reproduce the situation that sort will be cleared after refreshing page. We do understand the inconvenience caused and feel very sorry about it.

However, if we create a new view to sort by the Name column and show items in ascending order, it can stay the sort when refreshing the page. So it seems like we cannot reproduce the same issue in the new view.

For the situation you encountered, we do understand it has affected your work. Apologize for the inconvenience.

For troubleshooting, we would appreciate if you can confirm the following information.

1.Does the issue happen in a specific SharePoint list or different SharePoint lists?

2.We notice you mentioned "I have an imported excel table in Sharepoint which is linked to a powerapp", does it mean that the affected SharePoint list is linked to Microsoft PowerApps?

3.May I know if the issue happens in a specific browser or different browsers (Chrome/Edge)?

Thanks for your patience and understanding. We hope you are keeping safe and well!

    Best Regards,

    Tina
