    Hi Mark,

Good day! Thank you for sharing the Excel version information with us quickly.

From the screenshot, I can see you have the latest version of Excel, which is good.

Considering your situation, I would like to give some suggestions below and hope that will help:

    1. Firstly, I suggest you try to start Office in Safe Mode? and see if the problem persists.
    2. Secondly, If the problem still happens in Safe Mode, I suggest you do Office Online Repair from the Control Panel. Please see how to Repair an Office application (microsoft.com), and kindly let us know about the results.

Thank you for your kind understanding and patience. We look forward to your reply.

    Sincerely,

    Hi Mark,

Good day! Thank you for posting back to Microsoft Community.

First, we apologize for late reply due to weekend! Thanks for understanding this.

Sometimes issues happen in different versions and channels, and it would be better if we get version information where the issue has occurred.

From the previous reply, as I couldn’t reproduce this issue in Office version 2202 (Build 14931.20604 Click-to run) Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel, today, I have again tested in another Office Version 2206 (Build 15330.20264 Click-to-Run) Current Channel, and I still can’t meet the same behavior!

The screenshot that you took from File > Account page, we can’t determine your Excel version. For this matter, kindly refer to the screenshot below to send us your Excel version information, so that we can test in the same environment, hence provide relevant troubleshooting.

We really apologize for the inconveniences this issue has caused!

Thank you for your kind understanding and patience, and we look forward to your reply.

    Dear Mark,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

It seems when you choose data source, some fields are cut off and you are not able to add some fields in the Query Wizard.

I tested from my environment Office version 2202 (Build 14931.20604 Click-to run) Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel, and I cannot see the same behavior as shown in the screenshot below:

To better understand your situation and narrow down the issue, I would like to collect some information, and this will help us in providing proper troubleshooting steps:

    1. Could you please provide the version of Excel you are using? Click File > Account and take a screenshot of that page and send it to us.
    2. Could you please try to create a query using a different type of data from a different database and see the behavior?
    3. Does this happen to all Excel Workbooks or a particular workbook? You could also try to open a new Excel Workbook and do a test to see the results.

Thank you for understanding that the initial response may not help to solve issues, but together we can work together and solve the problem.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thanks for your cooperation. We look forward to your reply.

    Sincerely,
