Remove column indicator lines

I have the following layout (figure):

In the black boxes, there is text. I have created three columns with different widths, and I would like to get rid of the white lines/rulers at the bottom of each column. I tried going to Layout -> Separators -> Column, but all that does is remove the entire 3-column setup and I have to start over.

    Dear G B_517

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, it seems that you want to know how to remove the white lines/rulers at the bottom of each column in your Word document.

We did a test on our side, if we create three columns with different widths, there will no a additional indicator lines show in there.

To help us narrow down the query moving forward, we would like to collect more detailed information about the situation you are experiencing. Please kindly share with us the information below:

    1. Can you tell us how did the column indicator lines created? Did you create some table for the texts then the line appeared?
    2. Are they paragraph borders? Cell margins control how much space between the text and the cell edges?
Select the row, right click and choose table properties, then border and shading to check .

    1. Can you share a full and clear screenshot with the three columns to us so that we can have a better understanding?

We’re looking forward to your reply and will continue to help you all the time!  If there are any misunderstanding or unclear, you can post back in your free time.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,

    Stacey | Microsoft Community Moderator
