Lost PowerPoint notes.

Hello,

I recently took notes on my iPad using Powerpoint and it was set to autosave. Before I closed it out, I checked and it was all saved. Now, when I try to open it, the file is blank and there are none of my handwritten notes.

When I look into the history of the file, it is only the blank version from when I first downloaded it to OneNote.

There's also no deleted file history.

Is there any way I can get my notes back or do I have to re-write them?

    Thank you for your response!

I don't have OneDrive for Business but I checked my OneDrive for Education again and it still doesn't have the file. The file I was editing simply isn't present in PowerPoint anymore. It is however, still accessible on the OneNote document but it comes up as blank.

I also can't seem to find it in my emails and it doesn't come up when I search for it.

    Dear Joyce Qiu,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

We’re terribly sorry for the troubles caused by this issue! I understand how frustrating it can be if very important work just disappears without any obvious reason! If you saved the Document, it should have saved the information! Please let us cooperate and solve this problem together.

Please allow me give some suggestions to see if we can get back our lost information!

    1. You mentioned that you checked the history. Do you mean you checked version history of this file? Could it be possible that you had saved your file in OneDrive for Business? If you saved it on OneDrive for Business, you could check for version history and recover previous version: Restore a previous version of a file stored in OneDrive (microsoft.com).
    2. Further more, could it be possible that you unintentionally saved a copy of document in another location and you were working on that document this whole time? And now the document which you opened might not be the one you were actually working on! please check.
    3. If its possible that you shared this file to your email or to a friend!
    4. Also try to search for the file name both on your iPad and in OneDrive location, in Recent documents to see if you can find the latest version of your file!

Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation.

We really apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused! Good luck and stay safe!

    Sincerely,
