Macro Enabled workbook not syncing properly when more than two users work on it simounteneously

Hi,

We are working with a macro enabled workbook and have some issues when sharing it to other workers to collaborate on it.
The owner of the workbook does not see edits/has the live version of the file, whilst the other collaborators do.
It does work better when opened via sharepoint, but that isn't really a fix, since macros aren't working in sharepoint only in the desktop app.

How can we make sure the document is being live-synced in real time for every user working on it?

Thanks for the help in advance.
