Error code 0xE0000796 bb0ot when trying to sync a Onenote shared with me

I get the message OneNote can't sync your notes because your account is out of space. (Error code: 0xE0000796 bb0ot).

I have reopened this notebook after it has been closed for a while and I cannot get it to sync.

When I go into OneDrive I have 2.09GB of 5GB used so there should be plenty of space.

The owner of the Notebook thinks it is working fine.

My own notebooks and those shared with other people are all syncing OK.

    Since it's a shared notebook I think the message is about the owners storage or especially about his/your storage quota:

    Hello Corrin ,

    Thanks for posting your question in this community. From your description, you are getting an Error code 0xE0000796 bb0ot when trying to sync a Onenote I love helping other users in the Community by sharing my experience with Microsoft products.

    First, please check a few things:

    1. Check that you have connected to the right OneDrive cloud account: Go to OneNote > File > Locate your notebook > Settings > Properties > In location section, please make sure that you are connected to the OneDrive location
    2. Go to OneDrive client app > click on "Help & settings" > Settings > Please check you're cloud storage and make sure that you are connected to the correct account

    If you still see the issue, If you use OneNote for windows 10 then try OneNote 2016 client and check the outcome(download link: https://www.onenote.com/download) or another way.
