MS Projects: Custom Fields not working on Master Project File. Why not? The same filter works properly for individual projects

I am trying to create a simple lookahead on MS Projects on my Master file in which I inserted subprojects. The way that I am doing this is by adding a custom field, then using that as criteria for a new filter. Yes I am aware that I can automatically sort by date range but doing this excludes tasks that are outside the date range but are still in progress. Hence the custom filter.

I don't feel a need to copy and paste my formula for the custom field here because I know it works. I followed youtube videos to a t. The formula works perfectly on individual project files. But Not for my master. All tasks that should be showing a "Yes" in my new custom field, show a "No" just like the rest of them.

What I have tried that yielded unsuccessful results:

-Rebuilding my Master Project file.

Is there a reason that my custom field wouldn't work for my master project file? Is there anything I should try?

Thanks.

    MarcSi_067,

You're custom field formula doesn't work at master level because the tasks being tested do NOT belong to the master, they belong to each individual subproject.

Is there anything you should try? Yes. Put the custom field formula into each subproject. You should then see the result when you view the master.

With master files there is more to doing things than just to a "t".
