Subprojects on Teams question

Hi, I would really like some assistance as I am new to a lot of these applications. I am working on creating a master project list on project desktop (project plan 3) and linking a few subproject files to the main one so that when the subprojects are being actioned they will update the master list. I am trying to port these mpp files to Microsoft Teams to be able to see in different channels. However, I am having difficulty doing this. Any suggestions or help?

I see from this article that subprojects can't be ported but I am wondering if anyone has a workaround because we really need this on Teams.

Thank you,

Brandon

If you want to use a master project, you will need to store it and its associated subprojects in a shared network folder. The other PMs will be able to open their subprojects and update them, which will then update the master project. Hope this helps.

You are not going to be able to do what you want. Master projects do not work in SharePoint. When you create a new team in Teams, the system creates a SharePoint site for that team. Thus, if you want to save your subprojects and master project in Teams, the system would actually store them in a SharePoint site that does not support master projects. Sorry, but hope this helps.

Thanks for your swift reply, Dale. Would you happen to know the next best way to have a master tracker get updated by updating individual, smaller project trackers? If they aren't compatible in SharePoint then there's no point to having those tracker files in there either as they won't open correctly with the subprojects function, to my understanding?

    Thank you,

    Brandon
