Have this again:

Document is double spacing, weirdly this starts in middle, and says single space in format. document, yet it's forcing double spacing.

Stumped as always thanks.

Hmm, maybe the "Snap to grid..." option is relevant here. It is intended for certain languages (mostly Asian languages, I believe). Try turning it off.

Also, remember to select all affected text paragraphs before you change these options.

Please provide a screen shot of the entire document window which illustrates the issue. Be sure the non-printing characters [¶] are displayed in the document.

If the text is set to single line spacing and still appears to be something else, maybe the text actually consists of single line paragraphs with blank paragraphs in between them or with large values for spacing before/after. The screen shot below illustrates a possible situation, with nonprinting marks displayed. A pilcrow, ¶, represents the end of a paragraph (and it is added each time you press Enter).

    Hi kevs22,

I'm Tim, an Independent Consultant here and a Microsoft user like you. I don't work for Microsoft and do not have access to any of your data on their system.

Are you using the latest version of Office?

You mentioned you’re expecting the issue again, what happened last time?

    Kind regards

    Tim
