Delayed text input Apple Pencil

I moved to a 12.9”6th gen ipad pro and text input with Apple Pencil has not been working in OneNote only.

What happens is- I draw a single stroke or letter, then there is a delay of about 1 second before anything else can be written. It is so slow as to make it impossible to actually write. Any suggestions? This behavior in OneNote is the same whether I’m using Scribble or just the regular pen tool.

Any suggestions?

    Dear BKJEDI,

Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community.

Based on your description, OneNote on iPad will be delayed when entering text.

You can try to Reset credentials for OneNote to check the result(before doing below steps, please first make sure all your notes has been synced to OneNote Online successfully):

    1. Force quit OneNote on iPad and tap the Settings app on iPad.
    2. In the pane on the left, swipe down to the alphabetical list of installed apps and then tap the OneNote icon.
    3. In the OneNote options on the right, under the Reset heading, tap Reset OneNote.
    4. In the Reset OneNote options on the right, tap to enable the Delete All Notebooks option, and then also tap to enable the Delete Login Credentials option.
    5. Restart OneNote, and then tap Sign In to log in with your own account credentials.

If the problem persists, could you please provide some information for me?

    1. The version of the OneNote.
    2. The detailed version of iPad.

    Sincerely,
