Question about licensing

I have a question about licensing for this specific middleware: https://www.cybelesoft.com/thinfinity/virtualui/

This middleware publishes a desktop application as a web application with a single line of code.

Some details about the environment:

  • The desktop application has named users in a database.
  • The desktop application would be accessible over the internet (public).
  • The server hosting the middleware would be hosted in the cloud
  • The server has a SPLA windows server 2019 license (core)
  • The middleware is using a disconnected RDP session.
  • The middleware does not require the RDS role to be installed.
  • The middleware uses only 1 account on the server .
  • The middleware is using the RDP protocol.
  • The middleware sales rep is telling me that there are no licensing/no cals needed only the windows server license is needed according to him.
  • The middleware says during the configuration: Thinfinity VirtualUI requires at least one interactive windows session. By default it uses the console session, sharing this session among all connected users. You can configure it to run under an alternate windows session or to balance by configuring one session per user or distribute users evenly among a number of Windows sessions.

Would we need to add cals in this case or not required?

Thank you for your time.

Legal licensing questions are better directed towards your reseller's trained licensing specialist or ask microsoft directly.
