I am attempting to attach a .pdf file to a excel document using Insert Object > Create From file > Display as Icon.
However the only available icons I can select are not at all representative of a pdf and will frighten and confuse lay users.
If I don't select "change Icon" at all the object inserted into the excel sheet has no icon at all.
I have tried to get an icon offline and use the "browse" option to select it but none seem to work.
What are the requirements (dimensions, extension, etc) for such an icon? I have tried a variety without success.

UPDATE: So, the solution is to leave your computer for a while, come back, and the PDF icon will have appeared magically while you were away!
Still only those three in the options list, but on the sheet the blank object finally filled in with the correct icon.
