Access runtime network trusted location

Hello,

I'm helping one of my customers setup a trusted location on the network. I've had this work easily with other customers, but not sure why they are still seeing a security prompt when opening our access database from a network location. It works fine when running from a local trusted location.

Here's the details of the environment:

64-bit windows

64-bit Access Runtime version 16.0.16130.20306

I have tried updating the registry key under:

\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Access\Security\Trusted Locations\

as well as

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Access\Security\Trusted Locations\

as follows

and set the allownetworklocations registry

Opening the database from any of the other trusted locations works without a security prompt.. but opening it from the network location shows the security prompt..

I had a similar issue at another customer where the mapped drive was using the IP address, and when I changed to using a server name, it worked. But for this customer, the drive is mapped to a server name.

Anyone have any clues on how I can resolve this issue? Any troubleshooting steps need to be scheduled with the customer, so I'd appreciate a full series of steps (vs one at a time) if there are several potential steps to identify or resolve the issue.

Thanks!

Presumably the Z-drive is a mapped drive. Try the equivalent UNC path instead.
