Using Windows 11

I consistently get this error message when waking up my desktop computer. I am the only one using this computer which is attached to an NAS which syncs my laptop and desktop machines. I do not have this problem with Word or Excel or get the error message with my laptop. How do I resolve the issue, short of never letting my desktop sleep.

Are you saving your files to a folder that's synched to OneDrive?

If so, try saving to an unsynched folder and test to see this continues to happen.

I went through and disabled all the add-ins and rebooted. The problem still exists.

Did find out that the Office did not recognize me as an administrator even though the account is listed as an administrator. I am the only one who uses this machine.

    Thanks

I notice you have a couple of add-ins installed. Do you have all of them installed on your laptop as well? If so, it's probably not one of them causing this issue. But if there's something on the desktop that's not on the laptop, you might try disabling it to see if that helps.

    Hi jones_work,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forum. I hope you're doing well.

Based on your description, it seems to be that you have a problem with your PowerPoint application that modifies your presentation when the computer is on sleep mode. Let's work together to find the best solution to this problem.

I would like to ask you a few questions to better understand this problem.

    • Can I find out what is the exact version name of your Office application? Is it Microsoft 365 Family/Personal or Business? See this article for instructions: About Office: What version of Office am I using? - Microsoft Support
    • How long you've been experiencing this problem?
    • What troubleshooting steps yu've already tried to fix the problem?

    To better assist you, I suggest to try these troubleshooting steps;

Method 1. Try to restart your computer then try again accessing your PowerPoint if the problem is the same. If it is the same, try to shutdown your computer and open, then try again accessing your PowerPoint.

Method 2. Try to disconnect your computer from the NAS. In this way we can properly isolate the problem.

Method 3. Check for Office updates. PLease see this article here for instructions: Install Office updates - Microsoft Support

I look forward to your response.

    Sincerely,

    ReynaldoB
