My Freeze Pane icon doesn't look like that. It just has Unfreeze Panes, Freeze Top Row, and Freeze First Column.
I can freeze the top row or the first column but not both.
Why?
I'm working on a MacBook Pro w/Excel version 16.76

Hi,
whenever I try to freeze both top row and first column together it does not work. If I freeze top row it works and then when I freeze first column then top row does not remain froze but first column and vice versa.
But same thing if done programmatically say using python then it works perfectly fine and both remains froze.
So this seems like a bug and need to be fixed.

Dear Aashish,
Greetings! Thank you for posting in the Microsoft forum.
May I know if the following method works to freeze the top row and first column at the same time?
It will freeze both the top row and the first column of the worksheet. So, if you navigate through your worksheet, you will see the top row and the first column will always remain visible.
If my understanding above is not consistent with yours, you can also post back and point that out.
We will look forward to your reply. Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

Hi Neha,
Thanks for your prompt response.
yes, I already tried that option too but with this option half of the screen is frozen and not just top row and first column.
That means when I scroll on right side so columns from A to, I are frozen, but I just want first column to be frozen.
Likewise, when I scroll down top 14 rows are frozen, but I just want top row to be frozen.
Interestingly I could achieve it using python :)
