Count Indicator not showing in Excel status bar

I've noticed recently that Excel 365 is no longer showing the Count indicator in the status bar at the bottom of the screen. This is despite it being enabled in the options (right click on status bar and select). Is this a bug or is there another option within Excel which is causing this behaviour?

Thanks Phil

    Hello Pjs012,

I’m Gunasekar and I will be happy to help you with your question, I am a Microsoft consumer like you.

Does this issue happen with a specific Workbook or with all? For instance, if you create a new workbook and type some values in 3 cells with change anything in format, Does happen the same?

Ensure this is selected on the customize status bar section.

If you are still experiencing issues, disable COM-ADD ins in excel (To open excel in safe mode, In the run dialog box, type excel /safe and click enter) and repair office applications.

    (i) Close all Office applications. (ii) Search for the control panel in the search bar on the taskbar, and click enter. (iii) Choose a category view. (iv) In the Programs section, click uninstall a program and search for office 365. (v) Right-click Microsoft Office 365 and select Modify. (vi) Select Online Repair. When prompted for User Account Control, select Yes.

When it is done, Restart your PC.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I’ll be glad to assist you further.

    Best regards Gunasekar N
