Excel Vertical Text Merge and Center Appears Off-Center While Editing, Prints Okay

The default merge and center method appears off center on-screen, even at 100% zoom, but will print correctly. Note that this is only seen on the screen in the workbook, but upon viewing the print preview, the default method will look correctly centered. This only appears to be the case in the printed version and the preview. This makes aligning objects before printing or entering print preview a challenge. Is there a way to correct the on-screen layout view so that it better matches the final printed layout?

    Dear Rafael Soliz Jr.

Greetings! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, vertical text with the default Merge & Center method appears off center in Excel, but it looks correctly on print preview and prints correctly.

We'd like to help you, please let us cooperate, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

We tried testing in Excel on our side, we didn't reproduce the same situation when using the Merge& Center method.

To better help you and narrow down the issue, we'd like to collect following information:

1.How did you set up the text? By firstly selecting all cells and choose Merge & Center, then set text to Rotate Text Up? If not, could you share your detailed steps?

2.Does the issue happen in a specific Excel file or different files?

3.Could you share your Excel version? We'd like to test in same version as yours and check the result.

Please go to File>Account, capture a screenshot of Product Information, as shown below.

Thanks for your time and cooperation. We hope you stay safe and healthy always.

    Sincerely,

    Tina | Microsoft Community Moderator
